Bike Blog Talking Parts

IMG_2535I wish the Myrtle Beach Bike Week Rally would have a swap meet like the Pee Dee Street Rodders car show has in March. I miss the good old swap meets. The closest swap meet around is in Charleston I believe.  I have not been to it but would like to go. At the meets you can always find some odd parts or items that never make it to online markets.

  1. I had a fun weekend picking bikes like the american pickers do. I added a few to my collection. Seems that fewer people are salvaging motorcycles in my area these days. Last weekend I had the chance to talk to a guy from an older Harley only parts company in Myrtle Beach. It is cool to see how they operate selling new and used parts and encouraged them to spread out and start using the web more to advertise. 7/1/2012

  2. I had a great time at the SBB Motorcycle Swap Meet in Murrells Inlet Yesterday. Saw some old friends and made new ones. Sold a few parts and bought a few. Maybe they will continue to keep having these motorcycle swap meets. It is nice selling motorcycle parts directly to people in person rather than shipping the bike parts all of the time.

  3. This past Sunday I made a new friend, Chris – at Motor Master on Hwy 90 in Little River. He let me rescue a few bikes from his motorcycle junk yard. Great guy. I am always looking to add a few bikes to my salvage motorcycle collection. On average I pick up a few machines every month to keep the part inventory fresh.

  4. We had a good time this past Saturday 3/15/2014. We went to a friends bike shop in Hartsville, SC and bought a few bikes and parts. Then we enjoyed the night at Pleasant View 4×4 watching sand and mud drag racing. A long day but lots of fun.

  5. Well the beginning of October 2017 I started a little Facebook campaign marketing the “Parts Bike of the Day” showing different bikes being parted out on one a day posts. I have talked to a lot of new people and found a lot of people are interested in buying whole bikes to fix up. Sadly I am trying to sell parts off of the bikes and not really touching the target audience there. We are having a bit of a missed connection. It is all fun in learning about how people work in social media. One thing I know is that you have to put the phone down and ride or you will never get any where right!
